FAQ's

What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving your website in order to help it appear higher up on search engine results when people search for products and services within your area. This is the best way to organically attract potential leads through search engines such as Google and Bing.

Why is my website not ranking on Google or Bing?

There are many reasons why your website may not be ranking high on search results including, but not limited to, the following factors: length of time your site has existed, lack of quality keywords, improper implementation of keywords, lack of internal links, lack of quality backlinks, low Domain Authority, low engagement rate, content readability, low word count, lack of header tag diversity, lack of image alt text. Remember that SEO takes time and effort if you want to see the results. Your website will almost never appear on search results if you don't implement an SEO strategy.

How long does it take for my website to start ranking on search engines?

Unfortunately there is no guaranteed timeline as it depends on your SEO strategy and how well you've implemented it. Typically a minimum of 4-6 months is when you can expect to see your site begin to rank, assuming you are actively implementing your SEO strategy. Remember you are competing against your competitors for the top spot on search results, so if your competitor makes SEO a higher priority than you do, they will continue to rank above you.

What is Domain Authority?

Domain Authority (DA) is a score given to your website indicating how powerful it is. A higher DA means you will be given priority when it comes to ranking on search engines. Many factors contribute to your DA including, but not limited to, the following: length of time your site has existed, quality of keywords and backlinks, security of site, etc.

Where do I put my keywords?

We have provided a video as well as a downloadable instruction sheet towards the top of this page to teach you exactly where and how you should be implementing your keywords. In a nutshell, your keywords should be scattered throughout the content of your website in a natural manner, included in your header tags, added to the SEO options tab of your website (meta description), as well as within the Alt Text of your images. Keep in mind you don't want to overstuff your content with keywords as this can hurt your chances of ranking. Make sure your content flows naturally with keywords strategically placed throughout.

How do I get backlinks?

Email organizations and other businesses within your niche and service area to request backlinks to your website. Keep your outreach short and to the point, while explaining how your website content and/or service can benefit their target audience. Refer to the downloadable instruction sheet above for more in-depth instructions.

Why are keywords on images important?

The Alt Text of an image gives it an identity that search engines can understand. Images from your website can rank in search engines based on the implemented keywords and it also ensures that your website remains ADA compliant.

What does ADA Compliant mean?

ADA compliancy refers to how your website caters to those with disabilities. For example, if an image on your website has Alt Text, a blind person can understand what the image looks like because the Alt Text will verbally describe the content of the image. ADA compliancy is mandatory for most, but not all businesses. You can learn more about the ADA act and whether or not your business is required to follow this law by visiting https://www.ada.gov/.
